This first photo isn't what I meant when I typed "vision board" into Wix images but I'll take it. For someone out there it might be exactly what they want to include in their life...

But seriously, following on from my post about stones and pebbles this is another way help you keep in mind what is important as time goes on.
To make a physical vision board:
Gather magazines, cards, old calendars, even free local publications or papers
Cut out photos, illustrations or words
Place them all out on the floor or table and select the ones you want
Play around with the layout
Stick to paper
Hang it up somewhere you will see it every day

What are you looking for when you are choosing your images?
If you have something really specific you want to achieve in the next year, like buying a house, weekly gym classes, or ... a meditating paddle board partner (!) - use a literal image of these things as a reminder of your goal.
It could also be a metaphorical image, like diving off a cliff to symbolise taking brave action 'the plunge.' I used this image last year with the words 'trust yourself' and it empowered me to quit my job and focus on getting my coaching qualification.
Some people use numbers to show how much money they want to earn or kilometers they want to cycle.

You could incorportate your word of the year, a powerful quote, or a quality you want to put out into the world.

A vision board allows for openess to opportunity. You can be as specific or vague as you like, adding images or words that are meaningful to you.
An activity for connection
You may want to put aside some time alone to connect to yourself and really think deeply about what the best version of your year would look like.
Or you could involve some friends and gather your ideas and magazines in one place, inspiring each other and creating some accountability.
It could be a family activity, or a special craft with a child, cultivating in them the ability to dream and plan.

When to create one?
You don't have to do this on 1st Jan - it's never too late, and perhaps better once you've eased yourself into the year and seen a little of what it's about. You could create a vision board in springtime, in your birthday month, in September. Any time you want to look ahead, to dream and anchor those dreams.
Having a daily visual of your desires will prompt your mind to recognise them in the world and remind you to seek them out.
So next time you read a magazine or see an image in a newspaper that you love, snip it out and keep it. And if you create a vision board, let me know!
If you would like some coaching to help you move towards your vision, book in a call with me to get the ball rolling. I can't wait to hear from you.
